The Sanctuary Sea Cottages are a work of love, sweat and effort ( and a few tears too). Our 3 sea cottages overlook Ventry Harbour and Mount Eagle and are located along the Slea Head Drive on the Dingle Peninsula which is “the most beautiful place on earth” (so say National Geographic & us). It is one of the top destinations on the Atlantic Road Trip – the Wild Atlantic Way.
The breath-taking scenery is mostly mountain, ocean, harbour landscapes in this region and there is much to see and do. The great outdoors beckons visitors with many opportunities for hill-walking, cycling, swimming, kayaking, boating, fishing, guided tours … the iconic Dingle dolphin “Fungie” is still thrilling all age groups in the harbour daily.
Our home base is rural ocean mountain and our Sea Cottages are located between a working dairy farm and beef cattle farm. It is not unusual to find the cows wandering down to milking. Our small beach inlet is a great place to fossick, paddle, sunbathe, kayak or throw in a line!
The beautiful views, peace and tranquility of these private spaces are a delight for the senses but also a short distance 3km drive into the colourful buzz of Dingle. Here you will find a great array of cafes, restaurants, pubs, clothing, craft, cheese, bakeries and delightful shops and excellent coffee options. Dingle has won the Irish Foodie town award multiple times and there are many brunch, lunch and dinner and fine dining eateries. There is a wide variety of food selections from very casual to award winning Michelin Star restaurants to choose from. There is also a popular Cinema, Aquarium, Library, Beauty Spa and Gym.
West of Dingle is the irish speaking Gaeltacht (ancient language) area containing the location of numerous medieval & prehistoric remains to explore. Then, there is the music – concerts, pub gigs, buskers, music festivals . . . . . the traditional (trad) music is amazing not to mention all the other muscial genres to delight all ages.
We provide our guests with all the local information, things to do, places to see, our fave places to eat, drink and be merry. Our accommodation spaces have been carefully designed and tastefully decorated to provide you with the most wonderful experience while staying on the Peninsula.
